Cops say a man was knifed to death during a dispute at a Midwood supermarket Monday afternoon.
The victim — 38-year-old Ulugbek Gilasov — was stabbed in the chest with a knife following an argument at Navruz Market at the corner of Avenue O and McDonald Avenue.
The incident took place at around 2 pm, although it wasn’t immediately clear whether or not the attack took place inside or outside the grocer.
The victim was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Saidalo Abdumalikov, 30, was taken into custody, and the incident remains under investigation, according to authorities. He was charged Monday with manslaughter.
This is the first recorded murder, year-to-date, in the 67th Precinct, where the fatal stabbing occurred, according to the most recently available Police Department data. As of May 8, there were zero recorded murders in the precinct — the same amount as last year.
Correction (May 17, 10:30 am): A previous version of this story erroneously reported that the stabbing occurred in the 67th Precinct. It occurred in Brooklyn’s 66th Precinct. We regret the error.
Update (May 17, 2:30 pm): This story has been updated to include additional information about the victim, the suspect and the suspect’s charges.
