A 26−year−old area man is being sought for gunning down a young mother on Bedford Avenue.
Police allege that Rodney Ragbirsingh shot Greyssel Gomez in the head and back during a confrontation on Bedford Avenue between Cortelyou Road and Clarendon Avenue near Dee’s Transmission Shop.
Officials said that Gomez and Ragbirsingh have a prior relationship and have a seven−year−old child together.
The two were reportedly arguing at 8:17 p.m. on July 14 when Ragbirsingh grabbed her and pulled a gun, police said.
He then opened fire, hitting Gomez twice.
Gomez died of her injuries a short time later.
Witnesses told police that Gomez lived down the block from where the shooting took place.
While Ragbirsingh has a prior criminal record, none of the prior arrests were violent, officials said.
Cops from the 70th Precinct said that they had been called to break up disputes from the couple in the past, but nothing has flared up recently.
“Nothing like this was on our radar,” said one source.
Cops are asking anyone with information regarding Ragbirsingh’s whereabouts to come forward.
