Pizza pains
A 36-year-old was arrested on April 25 after he poked fun at a pregnant woman and then stabbed the woman’s husband with a fork when the man stepped up to protect her honor.
Surprised witnesses at N&D Pizzeria, which is on Avenue U near E. 29th Street, said the suspect was inside the restaurant at 12:58 pm when he started making fun of a pregnant customer.
When her husband interjected, the suspect jammed a fork into his chest, leaving the man with a small injury.
A pizza shop worker disarmed the brute, who then ran off. Police caught up with him a short time later, charging him with assault.
PSEG prank
A crew of con men tried to get a woman to let them into her E. 19th Street house on April 29, but they made one pivotal mistake — they claimed to be from a New Jersey electric company, PSEG.
The unwanted visitors showed up at the woman’s home, which is between Avenues S and T, at 2 pm and claimed that they needed to make a boiler inspection.
The woman, who was not a customer of the New Jersey-based energy provider, refused to let them in and called 911, but the suspects had fled before police arrived.
Child attacked
Cops are investigating a complaint that a 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on Avenue T — possibly by a relative.
Police sources said detectives from the NYPD Special Victims Squad were investigating the attack, which reportedly took place on April 27 inside a home near E. 15th Street.
99-cent attack
A thug throttled a 34-year-old man’s neck on April 30 during an exchange inside a 99-cent store on Avenue U.
The victim was shopping inside the store, which is between E. 18th and E. 19th streets, at 6:20 pm when the suspect grabbed him by the neck and threw him onto the floor.
Seconds later, the thug was running out of the store to an awaiting beige minivan, witnesses told police.
Robbed of cellphone
Three thugs jumped a 16-year-old on Avenue S on April 25, running off with the teen’s cellphone.
The victim was nearing Ocean Avenue at 7:52 pm when the thieves attacked, leaving him with a smattering of bruises.
Woman assaulted
A 41-year-old man was arrested on April 29 after he attacked a woman inside an E. 29th Street apartment, leaving her battered and bruised.
The 37-year-old woman told police that she was arguing with her attacker — an acquaintance — when he lunged, pushing her to the ground.
The thug had broken the woman’s cellphone and damaged the closet door and stormed out, only to be arrested the next day.
Stupid move
A goon shattered the front and rear passenger windows to a 2004 Toyota Corolla parked on Coney Island Avenue on April 30 — as the vehicle’s owner watched paces away.
The window breaker, 28, was arrested minutes after the 4:30 am act of criminal mischief.
One down
Police have arrested a 20-year-old man involved in the March 18 robbery that ended in the death of a Midwood resident.
Three thugs jumped and then shot 43-year-old David Apelewicz on E. 15th Street between Avenues H and I during a 5:30 am exchange.
Apelewicz was rushed to Kings County Hospital for treatment, but died of his injuries on March 27.
Investigators nabbed one of the three suspects this week, charging him with murder in the first degree.
Pharmacy raid
A gun-toting thief robbed the Health Star Pharmacy on Avenue U on April 23, taking $800 and an assortment of prescription pills.
Workers at the store, which is between E. 14th and E. 15th streets, said the thief barreled in at 5:40 pm, flashing his weapon.
“Give me cash and medications,” he demanded. “Hurry up or I’ll shoot you.”
Time for crime
A thug jumped a 58-year-old woman on E. 19th Street during an April 24 confrontation.
The victim was nearing Quentin Road at 9:50 am when the thief stepped up to her and asked her for the time.
Before the woman responded, the thief grabbed her, pushed her to the ground and ripped a gold cross of her neck, witnesses told police.
