Police on Thursday arrested the man suspected of killing a playwright in Greenpoint last month.
Authorities caught the 20-year-old suspect around 1 pm on Norman Avenue between Dobbin and Guernsey streets, steps away from where he allegedly stabbed George Carroll to death as he was walking home with his wife on Monitor Street near McGolrick Park on Aug. 18.
The suspect — a resident of the Bushwick Houses who cops had been hunting for more than a week — was charged with murder in the second degree and will be arraigned today.
He had 13 prior arrests, including grand larceny and armed robbery, according to police.
The man stabbed Carroll, 42, after chasing him down following a dispute the two had when the playwright passed him on the street.
