Mayoral candidates forum set for this month

Five hundred faith and community leaders from Brooklyn Congregations United, a coalition of 20 faith congregations representing more than 10,000 families from throughout Brooklyn, will hold a Mayoral Candidates Forum, “Our Voices, Our Future!” at 7 p.m., June 16 at Our Lady of Refuge, 2020 Foster Avenue (corner of Ocean Avenue). The forum is open to the public.

Clergy and faith leaders from BCU will be presenting a ‘New Vision for Brooklyn’, reflecting priorities identified by more than 11 Brooklyn congregations who participated in more than 20 community forums over the past year.

Mayoral candidates Council Member Tony Avella and Comptroller Bill Thompson will participate in the forum. They will be asked to share their plans to address these and other issues affecting everyday people in Brooklyn.
