Firefighters quickly contained a house fire in Midwood on Wednesday afternoon.
Units began receiving calls about the blaze at 1422 East 15th St., near Avenue N, just before noon on Feb. 5. Firefighters arrived to find flames emanating from the rear of the three-story dwelling.
Fire Department personnel were briefly hampered by a frozen hydrant, but the issue was quickly resolved. Crews deployed two hoselines to aggressively knock down the main body of the fire.
Searches throughout the building were negative for injuries. The FDNY Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
