Missing couple found in trunk

Left in trunk

Cops made a gruesome discovery on E. 52nd Street on March 9 — the remains of a young couple who had disappeared from Plainfield, NJ stuffed in the trunk of a Nissan.

Police said that they were called to the location at 7:15 pm and found the victims during a search of the car, which was parked near Snyder Avenue, and was the same make and model the couple was seen in before they disappeared.

A Medical Examiner had not released how the couple had died by late Tuesday.

Busted for murder

A 22-year-old man was arrested on March 10 for stabbing his girlfriend to death in front of their 1-year-old daughter.

Witnesses said that the suspect was arguing with his partner inside her Lenox Avenue apartment, which is between E. 54th and E. 55th streets, when he allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed her three times in the chest.

When the woman’s cousin, who lived down the hall, heard the woman’s screams, he kicked in the door, only to watch the suspect stab himself in the stomach.

Police said that the 22-year-old man’s injuries weren’t severe. He was charged with murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the hospital.

Dog days

A man sicced his pitbull on a man he was arguing with during a harried March 12 confrontation on E. 18th Street.

The victim told police that he was having words with the 48-year-old suspect between Tennis Court and Albamarle Road at 7 pm when he ordered his dog to “get him.”

The dog lunged at the victim, biting his arms, wrist and back, according to a complaint filed with the Kings County District Attorney’s office.

The 48-year-old was charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon — the dog.

Soda smacker

A 25-year-old woman attacked a Church Avenue salon employee with a can of soda on March 7 after the two argued over how her eyelashes were done.

Workers at the salon, which is near E. 96th Street, told police that the assailant said an employee did a poor job on her eyelashes at 2:40 pm and refused to pay.

But employees demanded that she do so — sparking an argument. During the altercation, the assailant picked up a can of Pepsi and smashed a worker in the face with it.

Left unprotected

A 44-year-old man was arrested on March 14 after he attacked a woman who had an order of protection against him.

The victim told police that she was on Dorchester Road at 6:45 am when her former acquaintance charged at her with a knife in his hand.

“You have no one to protect you!” the man screamed as he swung at the woman, but never made contact.

Cops apprehended him a short time later, charging him with assault, criminal contempt and criminal possession of a weapon.

Grocery raid

A hulking thief broke into a Cortelyou Road deli on March 1, taking $750.

Workers at the store, which is near E. 17th Street, said that the thief cut a hole in the roll down security gate and lifted the inside door off its hinges during the break-in, which took place sometime before 6 am.
