Over 55 firefighters rushed to the scene of an early-morning Brownsville fire on Monday morning, which erupted on the top floor of an apartment building of the Marcus Garvey Houses.
FDNY personnel got the call about the blaze just before 5:30 a.m., and 12 units arrived on the scene at 422 Chestnut St. to battle the inferno.
Smoke eaters operated a pair of hose-lines to knock down the main body of the fire, which did considerable damage to the building.
Around 55 FDNY members worked to quash the fire, and finally put it under control at around 6 a.m.
No one was reported injured in the fire.
