A moped driver died after crashing into a vehicle being driven by an unlicensed driver on Aug. 30, according to the NYPD.

Police said 41-year-old Waki Knight of Sunset Park was riding his unregistered Jiajue moped northbound on 3rd Avenue when he lost control at the intersection of 52nd Street. Knight fell off the bike and slammed into the side of a passing Honda Civic.

Paramedics rushed Knight, who lived just a block away from the scene of the accident, to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from severe head trauma.

Meanwhile, police discovered that the 26-year-old driver of the Honda Knight crashed into was unlicensed, and arrested him on charges of driving without a valid license. The incident is under investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
