A driver struck and killed an elderly man with her car on Ralph Avenue on June 20, according to authorities.

The driver was heading southbound near Sterling Place around 9:40 p.m., when she smashed into the 74-year-old pedestrian, who police said was in the middle of the road and not in the crosswalk.

Paramedics rushed the man with severe head trauma to Brookdale Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries days later on June 26, according to the authorities.

The driver, who remained on scene after the collision, was not arrested. The investigation remains ongoing.
