Hamilton grunge
Two thugs cornered and robbed a 56-year-old man as he walked down 64th Street on August 16.
The victim told cops that he was between Ninth Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway at around 6 am when he saw two men walking toward him. One of the suspects pulled a gun, while the other grabbed the victim’s phone and $320.
Bad breaks
At least three homes in the neighborhood were broken into last week. Here’s our weekly round-up:
• On Aug. 9, someone burgled a 76th Street home in the middle of the afternoon. The 24-year-old owner of the home, between 10th and 11th avenues, left his place around 1pm. When he returned four hours later, he noticed that someone had entered the home through an open side door and made off with more than $2,000 worth of gold jewelry.
• Two days later, someone broke into an 83rd Street apartment. The 55-year-old-victim told cops he left his apartment, which is between Fifth and Sixth avenues at around 10:45 am. When he got home just after 8:30 pm, he noticed someone had forced his front door open, and $500 was gone from inside.
• And sometime between Aug. 14 and 16, someone nabbed cash from a Bay Ridge Parkway home.
The 60-year-old victim said he left his home, between 11th and 12th avenues, at around 8 pm on Aug. 14. When he returned almost 48 hours later, the home’s back door had been smashed in and $180 was missing.
Auto neurotic
Thieves also broke into at least two cars parked around the neighborhood last week. Here’s the grisly roundup:
• A thief smashed into a car that the owner had left unattended on 64th Street for just 10 minutes on Aug. 12.
The 40-year-old victim told cops he left his car at the corner of Eighth Avenue at around 12:30 am. When he returned, he noticed that the front window was broken and his iPod was gone.
• On Aug. 16, someone broke into a car parked on Fort Hamilton Parkway and took a fancy navigation system.
The 40-year-old victim told cops he left his car at 86th Street at around 9 pm and came back two hours later to find the $300 device, plus his wallet, gone from inside the car.
