Never dare a stranger!

Shot on a dare

A guman shot a stranger in the leg on E. 83rd Street on May 2 — because the victim dared him to.

The 20-year-old resident told police that he was standing outside his house, which is between Avenues K and L, at 10 pm when the gunman walked down the street.

The two stared each other down — then challenged each other.

“What are you looking at?” the stranger asked.

“Not much” the victim chided.

“Maybe I should shoot you,” his opponent seethed.

“Maybe you should,” the victim challenged — apparently not knowing that the stranger was a bit trigger happy.

The assailant pulled a gun and opened fire, striking the victim in the leg. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Drunk at the wheel

A 30-year-old man was arrested on drunk driving charges on April 30 after he was caught asleep behind the wheel car at E. 108th Street.

Police say they found the man parked near Flatlands Eighth Street at 6:29 am. They gave him a Breathalyzer test — finding that his Blood Alcohol Content was way over the legal limit.

Attacked on E. 102

A 26-year-old woman was arrested on April 29 after she attacked a male friend on E. 102nd Street, leaving him with cuts to his head.

The victim was arguing with the woman near Seaview Avenue at 2 am when she pushed, punched, and scratched him.

Bottle bash

An 18-year-old woman was arrested on April 24 after she attacked another woman with a Corona bottle on Canarsie Road, leaving her victim with a deep cut on her neck.

The two women — who were arguing over a man — were inside an apartment near Avenue N at 11:22 am when the suspect attacked.

Police arrested the young woman a short time later, charging her with assault.

Gun robber sought

Three thugs jumped a 19-year-old on Avenue J and E. 57th Street on April 26 — taking the young man’s gun.

The victim was nearing E. 57th Street at 5:25 pm when the thieves attacked, running off with his weapon.

Anti-American

A thief broke into the Floyd Bennett American Legion Post on Avenue N, taking $60 during the April 28 burglary.

Post members said the thief wiggled his way into the building, which is near E. 56th Street, through an open air conditioner sleeve in the wall.

Subway swipe

A thief held up a Ralph Avenue Subway restaurant on April 24, taking $150.

Workers at the eatery, which is between E. 78th and E. 79th streets, said the man came in at 9 pm, ordered some food, and then jammed his hand into his pocket as if he had a gun.

He then jumped the counter, emptied the register, and ran off with the cash.

Utica hold up

A thief with a gun jammed in his pocket held up a Utica Avenue store on April 19, taking $119.

A worker at the store, which is near Avenue H, said the thief entered at 6:10 pm.

After making an order, the thief thrust his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun and began ordering the employee around.

“Don’t close the register,” the man said. “Give me the money or I’ll shoot you.”

Shot in car

A gunman opened fire on a man sitting in his car on E. 83rd Street on April 13 — grazing his back.

The victim was idling between Avenues L and M at 2 am when the suspect pulled open the car door and fired off a number of rounds.

The victim was hit, but not seriously: he drove himself to Kings County Hospital, where he was treated and released.
