New director for East Midwood Hebrew Day School

East Midwood Hebrew Day School announces the hiring of its new executive director, Dr. Eugene Miller, who comes to the school after a long career as an educator, administrator and author. A native of Brooklyn, he has written on such subjects as religion, philanthropy (tzedaka) and society.

Deeply committed to the mission of East Midwood Hebrew Day School, 1256 East 21st Street, to provide its students secular and religious education of the highest possible quality, Dr. Miller’s vision is to strengthen an inclusive, pluralistic vision of Judaism, one that is open and inviting to Jews of many different backgrounds.

President of the Board or Trustees, Jonathan Sohnis noted that, “Acquiring an executive director with such professional experience, academic attributes and impassioned ideology is truly rare. Together with our much-admired principal, Mrs. Alese Gingold, East Midwood Hebrew Day School is poised to reach even greater levels of excellence in providing a beautiful learning experience to our young students.”
