Founded by St. Francis de Sales, who was a man for the laity and a man of joy, the Sisters of Visitation shared an evening of prayer and worship with the Agape Center. One Monday each month the Agape Center come together in the Visitation Chapel at Ridge Boulevard & 89th Street to praise God and “to give people an opportunity to experience God’s desire for wholeness of mind, body and spirit.”
The evening of worship began with the recitation of the Rosary. Father Michael Gribbon of Blessed Trinity Parish in Breezy Point was the Homilist for the evening, and he exposed the Blessed Sacrament, while Joe Neilsen and Revelation 23 sang hymns.
Terry & Lou Durante, coordinators of Agape Center, the Sisters, priests and Rose DeLucie prayed over each person in attendance, explaining that “God calls each one of us by name,” and that it is “a wonderful opportunity to make time to listen to God’s word and give thanks and praise.”
Father Gribbon said, “God is calling us. What does He want us to do?” Father Gribbon explained that, “We need to open our hearts and listen and that God especially calls on each of one of us, just as we are.”
Also in attendance were Father Fancis Obu-Mends from Blessed Trinity and Father Sammy Arputham from Our Lady of Angels in Bay Ridge.
