Summer fun was on the menu %u2013 not to mention a generous helping of potluck delights %u2013 when neighbors jumpstarted the season of fun in the sun with a block party along East 23rd Street.

Spirits soared along the traffic-free stretch from Newkirk to Ditmas Avenues %u2013 where amusements and attractions cemented community camaraderie till the wee hours.

Among the crowd-pleasers were party games and community barbecues.
