Once bitten

77th Precinct

Prospect Heights

Chomp chump

A teenage thief bit a woman’s hand as he tried to snag her iPod on Eastern Parkway on May 6.

The 26-year-old victim said she was between Washington and Underhill avenues at 7:25 pm when the thief ran by and grabbed the iPod from her hand.

But the woman refused to release the popular digital music device, prompting the thug to chomp down on her hand.

He got the player — and she got little puncture marks on her thumb and pinky.

Teller took

A teller at a Flatbush Avenue bank was arrested on May 7 for bilking the Prospect Heights branch of $23,000.

Cops say that the 20-year-old filched money from her drawer after submitting fraudulent transactions — but investigators believe she had accomplices at the Chase branch, which is between Plaza Street East and Sterling Place.

Apartment break

Thieves broke into a Dean Street apartment and got away with cash and high-tech goodies.

The tenant in the apartment told cops that he was away from the unit, which is between Carlton and Vanderbilt avenues, between May 7 and May 9, when he returned to find that a thief had entered through a sliding-glass door and taken cash, a flat-screen TV, a laptop, an iPhone and an iPod.

Construction con

Thieves broke into a Bergen Street building that was being remodeled on May 6, taking an assortment of radiators and light fixtures.

Workers at the site, which is between Grand and Classon avenues, said that six rolls of electrical cable were also removed after thieves forced in the front doors sometime after 6:30 pm, damaging the locks in the process.

Left flat

A free-wheeling thief took the front tire off a bike outside the Brooklyn Botanic Garden on Eastern Parkway on May 8.

The 24-year-old cyclist told cops that he returned at 3:45 pm to the spot between Underhill and Washington avenues where he had chained his bike and found it missing a key part.
