A car thief heisted a minivan and slammed into a Greenpoint woman, taking the 37-year-old’s life before crashing into a row of parked cars on Monday on Manhattan Avenue.

The driver of the white Dodge Caravan plowed into Violetta Krzyzak at around 3:30 pm at the corner of India Street, throwing her to the asphalt.

After colliding with Krzyzak, a Huron Street resident, the driver hit the gas and raced up Manhattan Avenue for five more blocks before smashing into a parked SUV near the corner of Dupont Street.

Police locked up a 28-year-old suspect, who suffered a broken toe during the horrifying joy ride, and charged him with vehicular manslaughter, grand larceny, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a death, criminally negligent homicide, aggravated unlicensed operator, reckless driving, and speeding.
