On Nov. 7, WNYC Radio’s Leonard Lopate
will moderate "Brooklyn on My Mind," Brooklyn College’s
reading series that examines the borough’s impact on writers
and the American experience.

Lopate, who grew up in Williamsburg and Bedford-Stuyvesant, will
host three critically acclaimed authors: newcomers Susan Choi
("American Woman") and Jonathan Safran Foer ("Extremely
Loud and Incredibly Close"), and seasoned scribe Pete Hamill.

Hamill’s novella "The Gift," set in 1952 Brooklyn,
is being reprinted in hardcover by Little, Brown and Company
this month.

The literary event begins at 7 pm in the Walt Whitman Theatre,
located on Brooklyn College’s campus, one block from the junction
of Flatbush and Nostrand avenues. Tickets are $5. For tickets
and more information, call (718) 951-4500.
