Passover food drive in Brighton

Selfless Brooklynites helped make the holidays brighter for needy neighbors by banding together for a Passover food drive at the JASA Brighton Beach Scheuer House.

Volunteers helped workers distribute community donations of non-perishable kosher food items at the bustling community facility, 3169 Brighton 6th Street.

The drive helped approximately 1,100 people, including the elderly, many of whom are Holocaust survivors.

Passover celebrates the liberation of Israelites from persecution in ancient Egypt.
