Peek-a-boo: Bank bandit is caught on tape

Police have released a photo of a note-passing bank robber whose own specifications could have been his undoing.

Workers at the Capital One Bank at 2150 76th Street said told police that the thief, described only as a six-foot tall black male in his mid-thirties, entered the bank at 5 p.m. on April 16 and handed a teller a note. The note reportedly made no threats, indicating only: “100s, 50s and 20s.” The teller didn’t quite know what to make of his note, officials said. Frustrated, the thief stormed out of the bank empty-handed and hasn’t been seen since, officials said. Expecting a repeat performance from the bank robber, cops are asking anyone with information regarding this man’s identity or whereabouts to come forward. Calls can be made to the NYPD CrimeStoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
