Person of interest sought in Red Hook slaying

Police say they have identified “a person of interest” in the murder of a 26-year-old Red Hook resident killed earlier this week.

The victim, Shawn Quamina, was found shot in the head inside his apartment on Lorraine Street near Otsego Street just before 4:30 p.m. on February 1. He died at the scene.

Cops said that they have identified his killer, but will not release the man’s name as they continue their search for him.

Police belive that the slaying was “drug related.”

Quamina’s death is the first murder investigated by the 76th Precinct this year.

Last year, five murders in Red Hook and Carroll Gardens were investigated by authorities.

Anyone with information regarding this killing is urged to come forward.
