Catch a solo piano performance by one of New York’s most inventive composers, Pete Malinverni, who is now at Brooklyn’s The River Café at 1 Water Street on the water in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge.
The musician plays the evenings of September 13, 14, 20 and 21.
Malinverni teaches jazz piano at the Purchase College School of the Arts Conservatory of Music. Since 1993 he has served as church musician at the Devoe Street Baptist Church in Brooklyn. His work bears a strong influence by the music of the African-American church.
In 2006, he released “Joyful!,” a CD/DVD live recording of his gospel/jazz compositions with ArtistShare.
