Sea change
Cops were called to the sands of Brighton Beach, where a body floated ashore Monday.
Police said that the corpse surfaced at around 12:15 a.m. on September 29 in the waters off the Reigelmann Boardwalk near Brighton 4th Street.
Since no wounds were found on the body, it was unclear what killed the victim, described only as a white male in his 30s or 40s.
Cops are awaiting the results of an autopsy before they proceed.

Senior killed
A 91-year-old woman was killed last week following a tractor trailer accident in Gravesend, officials said.
Police said that the victim, identified as Antoinette Steifer, was pushing her shopping cart across McDonald Avenue near Kings Highway at 9 a.m. on September 24 when she was struck down by the massive 18-wheeler.
Witnesses told police that the man operating the 18-wheeler didn’t notice that he had struck the frail woman and kept on going – stopping only when stunned residents told him to slow down.
Steifer died of her injuries at Coney Island Hospital. As of this writing, no charges had been filed against the driver.
According to the New York Post, Steifer was on her way to a luau party at the Sephardic Senior Center on Kings Highway when she was killed.
Couple robbed
A teenage couple was robbed of their cell phones following a robbery in Sheepshead Bay last week, officials said.
The victims said that they were nearing the corner of Avenue Z and East 23rd Street at 11:50 p.m. on September 27 when three black males grabbed them.
The suspects shoved them to the ground, threatened that they had a gun and ran off with the cell phones. No serious injuries were reported.
Know when to run
A 27-year-old burglar learned a valuable lesson in the importance of fleeing the scene of a crime last week after he was caught counting the loot from the heist – right in front of the address he had stolen the money from, police alleged.
Officials alleged that Tony Aquino barged into the Brighton 6th Street home near Banner Avenue – where his ex-girlfriend lived – at about 6 p.m. on September 28 and took some money from her.
When he left the home, he allegedly stopped to count the money, officials were told.
Seizing the moment, the victim’s father, who was upstairs, called 911.
Area cops rolled up to the suspect just as he finished counting the ill-gotten cash.
Cops charged him with burglary, assault, criminal trespass and violating a court order that his ex-girlfriend had allegedly filed against him.
Bike brute busted
An 18-year-old was arrested last week following a bicycle theft at a Bensonhurst corner, cops from the 62nd Precinct said.
Cops were told that a 17-year-old was pedaling past the corner of 62nd Street and 20th Avenue on September 15 when Jonathan Velazquez allegedly threw him off his two-wheeler.
He then cracked a glass bottle over his victim’s head and fled with the bike, officials allege.
The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital with head injuries.
A few days later, he reported the crime to police, who apprehended Velazquez following a short investigation.
Lung power
A woman warded off a purse-snatcher – yet lost her bag anyway – by screaming her lungs out on 19th Avenue near 86th Street, officials said.
The 30-year-old victim told police that she was nearing the corner just before 3:45 a.m. on September 21 when the unidentified thief grabbed her from behind.
When the suspect grabbed hold of her bag, she kicked him and started screaming. Her defense startled the thief who let go of the bag.
The woman ran off screaming until someone living nearby came out to see what was going on.
Yet, sometime during her escape, she dropped her bag, which the thief scooped up during the brief chase.
No injuries were reported.
Ski sharks
Cops are looking for the thieves who made off with two landlocked jet skis sitting outside a Bensonhurst resident’s home.
The owner of the jet skis told police that the two small watercrafts were last seen sitting on a trailer in the driveway of his 17th Avenue abode near 88th Street on the night of September 17.
Some pirates ran off with the jet skis during the night, officials said.
