62nd Precinct

Bensonhurst—Bath Beach

Cable guy

Cops cuffed a man who they say stole an iPhone-4 cable from a New Utrecth Avenue store on Sept. 4, and then beat a guy behind the counter after he tried to stop the alleged thief.

The victim told police that he was working the register between 70th Street and Bay Ridge Avenue at 9 am when he spotted the suspect fleeing with the phone cord. The victim tried his best to recover the stolen cable, but the only thing he got was a fist to the face, cops said.

Beer bandit

A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing a beer from an 18th Avenue shop on Sept. 4, and then attacking the owner after he got caught.

The victim told police that he was inside his store between 65th and 66th streets at 11:43 am when he spotted the suspect grab a cold one and attempt to leave without paying. When the victim confronted the man, he reached into his pocket and uttered a sharp threat, cops said.

“I’ll cut you with my knife,” the suspect allegedly growled.

The suspect went on to take a swing at the victim, although the blow failed to connect, according to police.

Pistol perps

Two pistol-armed thugs robbed a Bay 35th Street bodega on Sept. 3, taking an iPhone and $1,200.

The victim told police that he was behind the counter of the shop between Cropsey and Bath avenues at 10:30 pm when the gunmen barged in — pistols at the ready.

The victim was ordered to lay on the ground and the crooks grabbed his phone before cleaning out the register. Cash in hand, the thieves fled in a dark-colored sedan heading south on Bay 34th Street, cops said.

Iron will

A thug robbed an 18th Avenue deli on Sept. 1, taking $1,100.

The victim told police that he was working the register of the deli between 65th and 66th streets at 7:30 am when the crook — armed with a tire iron — leaped over the counter and shoved the victim.

The thief then looted the register and fled, but left his tire-iron behind on the counter, cops said.

Beaten and followed

Cops busted a 27-year-old man who they claim beat and attempted to rob a man on 21st Avenue on Aug. 30.

The victim told police that he was between 78th and 79th streets at 4:30 am when the suspect sauntered up and demanded the victim’s phone. When the victim refused, the suspect allegedly slugged him with a flurry of vicious blows to the face.

The victim then fled into a building, but the suspect followed and kicked a glass door, before the encounter ultimately ended, cops said.

Pistol-wielding punks

Three teenage punks robbed a man at gunpoint on 71st Street on Aug. 29, taking $300.

The victim told police that he was between 17th and 18th avenues at 12:41 am when two men suddenly grabbed his arms and restrained him. A third man wielding a pistol then appeared, went through the victim’s pockets, and came out with the man’s wallet, before all three fled down 71st Street heading towards 17th Avenue, cops said.

Purse pinched

A purse-snatcher robbed a woman on 18th Avenue on Aug. 28.

The victim told police that she was near 67th Street at 1 pm when the crook hurled her to the floor and grabbed her bag. The victim, who managed to maintain a hold on her purse as she fell, wrestled with the crook for a while, but was ultimately overpowered and forced to let go.

The purse was later recovered by police, but the $110 and MetroCard it contained were missing, cops said.

Kids these days

A 16-year-old kid was arrested for slashing another boy at their 20th Avenue school on Sept. 7.

The victim told police that he was at school between 67th and 68th streets at 5:10 pm, when the suspect pulled out a knife and cut the victim’s wrist.

Senior beaten

Cops are hunting three goons wanted for beating a 60-year-old man with a pipe on Harway Avenue on Sept. 5.

The victim told police that he was between Bay 40th and Bay 41st streets at 12:30 am when the thugs grabbed him from behind.

“Don’t move,” one of the crooks snarled.

But the victim wasn’t having it, and continued to struggle, inciting the crooks to begin assaulting him with a series of blows from a black metal pipe, according to police. Before the attack ended, the victim ultimately suffered a fractured arm, bruises on his face, and cuts all around his body, cops said.

Have a beer

A thug bashed a man’s head in with a beer bottle on New Utrecth Avenue on Aug. 28.

The victim told police that he was near 74th Street at 7 pm when the suspect opened a bottle of beer on his head. For the life of him, the victim couldn’t reckon why the unknown assailant attacked him, cops said.
