Police are asking for the public’s help finding two men who allegedly forced a man into their car at gunpoint in Brighton Beach, tried to get him to buy them beer, and then robbed him on July 29.
The victim was approached by two men in a grey sedan at the corner of Brighton Sixth Street and Oceanview Avenue at 3:20 am, according to police. According to the victim, a man jumped out of the car, pointed a black revolver at the victim, and said, “If you don’t buy me beer, I’ll kill you.”
The suspects then allegedly coerced the victim into the sedan and drove him to Coney Island, where they allegedly demanded that he buy them beer and cigars at a Neptune Avenue store.
But the victim refused, prompting the alleged gunman to say, “If you don’t buy, I’ll kill you. Take out your wallet,” according to police reports.
The suspects then allegedly took $400 out of the victim’s wallet, the returned the wallet to the victim before driving westbound down Neptune Avenue, said police. The victim was unharmed, officials said.
Both suspects were described as being in their late 20’s. One wore a blue T-shirt, while the other wore a white T-shirt and carried a black firearm, according to authorities.
