State Senator Marty Golden, City Councilman Vincent Gentile and a surprise celebrity judge will be judging Brooklyn’s Second Senior Idol Contest, also featuring a guest appearance by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.
Auditions for Senior Idol, presented by AARP Brooklyn Chapter #5055, will be at 10 a.m., September 13 at Xaverian High School, 7100 Shore Road in Bay Ridge.
Applicants must be an AARP member, 50 years of age or older, live in Brooklyn and have an incredible voice.
First level judges will pick up to 15 talented people to go to the final level and compete for the title of Brooklyn’s Second Senior Idol, which will be held at 7 p.m., October 18 at Xaverian. Tickets are $10 at the door.
“If you are 50 years-old or older, this is an extraordinary opportunity for you to shine and show us real talent,” said AARP Chapter #5055 President Albert Asfazadour. “This is a chance of a lifetime and it will be an evening to remember.”
There will be raffles, refreshments and lots of surprises.
