Shooter busted

Police have arrested a 34-year-old man for popping off shots inside a Mermaid Avenue store on Dec. 5.

Witnesses said that the suspect walked into the deli, which is between W. 32nd and W. 33rd streets, at 8:48 pm and fired two shots into the ceiling. He then threatened a store employee with a gun and ran off, not hurting anyone, cops were told.

Investigators identified and arrested the gunman on Dec. 14, charging him with reckless endangerment and menacing.

iPhone grab

A knife-wielding goon jumped a 31-year-old man on Ocean Avenue on Dec. 6, taking his iPhone.

The victim was walking his dog between Avenues W and X at 2:50 am when the thief ran up to him, demanding his phone.

The two struggled, but the victim handed over his pricey smart phone once the thief pulled a knife, demanding, “Give me all of your sh-t or I’ll stab you in the neck.”

Beaten on W. 24th

A goon clobbered another man on Dec. 5 during a spate of fisticuffs inside a W. 24th Street apartment.

Witnesses said the two men were arguing between Mermaid and Surf avenues at 8:30 pm when the thug attacked the victim, hitting him with both his fists and a chair.

The victim was beaten so badly that he needed several staples to close a deep cut to his head, police said.

Investigators caught up with the 18-year-old assailant on Dec. 13, charging him with assault.

Rude Romeo

A 29-year-old Lothario was arrested on burglary charges Dec. 11 after he allegedly forced his way into a woman’s 82nd Street home for — of all things — a kiss.

The victim told police she had just stepped into her home, which is between 22nd and 23rd avenues, when the pushy paramour — whom she knew — muscled his way in and attempted to give her a smooch.

The thug then fled, but texted the woman repeatedly, asking her to return his calls, said police, who also charged him with attempted assault and violating an order of protection.

74-year-old beaten

A thug jumped a senior citizen on Dec. 4 during a clash inside the victim’s Shore Parkway building.

The victim said that his attacker — a neighbor — was arguing with him at 7 pm, when he hit the elderly man in the face with a blunt object.

The thug then fled, leaving the senior with minor bruises, officials said.

Jewelry grab

More than $46,000 in jewelry was removed from a Gravesend home on Dec. 7.

A tenant inside a W. Seventh Street apartment, which is between Avenues U and V, said she returned home at 3:30 pm, only to find her bedroom ransacked.

Tire swipers

A 45-year-old man was arrested on Dec. 8 for removing an assortment of tires and rims from a Cropsey Avenue address.

Police said that the suspect and an accomplice forced their way into a fenced in yard between 19th Avenue and Bay 20th Street on Nov. 26, taking three tires and three alloy rims.

The 45-year-old’s accomplice was arrested shortly after the theft, cops from the 62nd Precinct said.

Forking it over

A thief robbed a 58-year-old woman on Nov. 30 believing that his victim could afford being mugged.

The woman was on E. 26th Street between Avenues V and W at 6 pm when the thief began to follow her.

“I know you have a lot of money, so give me your purse,” the thief said before punching the woman in the nose and making off with her property.

Subway steal

Thieves broke into a Knapp Street Subway restaurant on Nov. 29, taking $6,000.

Employees told police that someone forced open the front door to the eatery between Shore Parkway and Harkness Avenue with a crowbar, then used a dolly to cart the safe out from behind the counter.

72-year-old robbed

A hooligan jumped a 72-year-old man inside a W. 33rd Street apartment building on Dec. 6, taking his property.

The victim as robbed after the thief followed him into the elevator of the building, which is between Surf Avenue and the Boardwalk, at 2:30 pm.
