Public School 255 puts academic spotlight on outstanding learners

Members of the pint-sized “brain trust” of Public School 255 were lauded for maintaining exceptional attendance records, grades, and exhibiting kindness towards others.

The select crop of youngsters presented with “Student of the Month” honors earned the coveted honor of wearing school banners throughout the day, and were also presented with brand new pencils, all the better to produce more of the excellent work for which they were recognized.

Project Arts Liaison Miriam Rankin inaugurated the monthly initiative as a way of recognizing all of PS 255’s young learners in grades K through five.

“It is a real honor to be chosen,” said PS 255 Principal Linda L. Singer, noting that “They live up to the goals and objectives of the school. We aim for the stars and our Students of the Month shine upon all of us. These students are proud of themselves,” Singer explained, “and we are even prouder of all of their accomplishments.”

PS 255 is located at 1866 East 17th Street and Avenue R.
