An alleged armed robber was cuffed on Mar. 17 for stealing a load of precious jewelry from a Downtown Brooklyn store.

Cops said two men carrying firearms walked into Contessa Jewelry on Fulton Street and started looting the store, grabbing up gold chains, bracelets, and diamond rings from display cases.

The thieves left the store weighed down with $91,200 worth of jewelry.

After reviewing the store’s security cameras, cops identified and arrested a 26-year-old man that evening and recovered the stolen jewelry. The second perp still remains at large.

Overall crime is up more than 15% in the 84th Precinct, where the heist took place, per the latest NYPD data, and robberies are uo 200% year-over-year, with at least 48 robberies reported in the precinct so far in 2024. Last month, a pair of thieves stole more than $600 worth of cannabis products from a Brooklyn Heights smoke shop.
