The Easter bunny and a handful of musicians helped to make Easter Sunday special for scores of Greenpoint and Williamsburg kids.
The community organization Town Square, Inc. hosted an Easter egg hunt that drew more than 400 children to Greenpoint’s McGolrick Park on Sunday afternoon. The warm weather helped draw the little ones in droves, an organizer said.
“We had such a nice turnout,” said Town Square founder Susan Anderson. “I think people were really aching for spring.”
The organization filled 5,000 plastic eggs with small pieces candy and raffle tickets that hunters could use to claim larger sweets from the hosts.
The youngsters spent a few hours at the park searching for their prizes, saying hello to the Easter bunny, and checking out instruments brought by the Williamsburg School of Music and Sage Music School in Long Island City.
This was the group’s third annual Easter extravaganza.
