Scoundrel swipes senior’s handicap pass from car

Some goon swiped an elderly woman’s handicap parking pass from her car parked at a Second Avenue hardware store on May 19.

The victim, 79, told police she left her car in the parking lot of the hardware store near 12th Street at 4:30 pm, and returned a half hour later to find her city handicap pass stolen.

Investigators found no sign of a break in, and have closed the case without any arrests, according to police.

Universal locksmith

Cops arrested an alleged bike thief after he was caught with “burglar’s tools” on President Street on May 23.

The arresting officer reported he spotted the suspect fiddling with a bike parked near Fourth Avenue at 1 am, and pulled him over after he rode illegally on the sidewalk against traffic.

Upon searching the man, the cop discovered a pair of pliers, a wrench, and an open container of beer, before later finding there was an open warrant out for his arrest, according to police.

Brick head

A vandal threw a brick through the window of a man’s car parked on Dean Street on May 25.

The victim told police he left his car between Fourth and Fifth avenues at 12:30 pm, and returned the next day to find his front-passenger window shattered, and a red brick resting inside his vehicle.

Police have closed the case without making any arrests, cops said.

A thief rode off with a man’s pricey Cannondale bike he parked on Seventh Avenue on May 25.

The victim told police he left his bike between Third and Fourth avenues at 12:30 pm, and returned an hour later to find his pedal-powered ride stolen.

No good sneaker

Police busted a man on burglary charges after he allegedly stole a pair of children’s sneakers from a 12th Street home on May 7.

The victim told police the suspect snagged the kid’s kicks from the private vestibule of her home between Fifth and Sixth avenues at 10:50 am.

Police arrested the suspect, a 41-year-old man, on May 26, cops said.
