Police need the public’s help tracking down three suspects accused of trying to rob a Coney Island senior on June 15.
Three men followed their 66-year-old target into his building on Surf Avenue and 33 Street at 6:50 pm. Then one of the suspects punched the elderly man in the head, another tried to steal his cellphone, and the third attempted to empty his pockets.
But their victim refused to be victimized, and he fought off his three attackers, who then fled the scene before they could grab any of his belongings. No hospitalization was needed, according to cops.
The first suspect was last seen wearing a dark denim jacket, white shorts, and white sneakers. The second suspect had short dreadlocks. The third was wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
