A burst hose-line and blown hydrant left a firefighter hospitalized, and several others with minor injuries, while battling a two-alarm house fire in Flatlands Tuesday night.
Over 100 FDNY personnel arrived at the scene of the inferno at 1842 E. 49th St. just after 7 pm on Aug. 31 to find heavy flames and smoke emitting from a standalone two-and-a-half-story private dwelling.
Around 25 FNDY units worked to put out the blaze, which quickly spread to the first two floors of the building.
There were no residents found trapped inside, and the fire was placed under control at 8:45 pm. Paramedics on the scene took one firefighter to a nearby hospital for his injuries, according to an FDNY spokesperson.
