Lock pick
A crafty thief crept into a woman’s 16th Avenue apartment and picked the lock on her cabinet, making off with cash and pills, on April 29.
The woman discovered the busted lock in her apartment between 86th Street and Benson Avenue at noon and told police that she believes it was her grandson, according to a police report.
The raider made off with $3,000 in US dollars and $1,000 in euros. Two bottles of hydrocodone — totaling up to 240 pills — were also taken, according to a police report.
Trio of toughs
Police arrested a trio of men for threatening a man and his family on 70th Street on April 24.
The man told police that he owes the men $2,500 and doesn’t have the cash to settle his debt, so the suspects visited his home between 21st Avenue and Bay Parkway at 8 pm. They warned the victim that if he didn’t pay up, “Something is going to happen to his family,” according to a police report.
The trio also texted threats to the man, police said.
Tireless
Thieves stole the tires and wheels off of a car parked on Shore Parkway on April 24.
The victim told police that he parked his car near Bay 38th Street earlier that day, but when he returned at 10:30 pm he discovered his ride propped up on concrete blocks. All four tires and rims were swiped, according to a police report.
