SONIC is shifting gears with the borough’s first full-fledged drive-through.
The iconic fast food chain, founded in 1953, has become the largest drive-in restaurant brand in the United States. While Metro New Yorkers have sampled the eatery’s award-winning menu at its first two locations (including one in Williamsburg), Brooklynites will now experience the brand’s iconic drive-through service in East New York.
The expansive, customizable menu will be available daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition to the drive-through, visitors can dine inside the new location, which seats up to 20 guests, or use the pickup window.
“The Brooklyn SONIC will offer everything our customers know and love with the added convenience of a drive-thru to enjoy their meals on-the-go,” said owner and franchise partner Jonathan Gensler. “Our team’s looking forward to serving the community both within and beyond our restaurant doors for years to come.”
Gensler opened his first SONIC location in Williamsburg — the borough’s first taste of “America’s drive-in” — in 2023.
Brooklyn customers can enjoy pain-free ordering and payment through online orders or the SONIC app, which will also offer monthly deals and discounts.
As part of its broader mission, SONIC supports public education by donating a portion of every purchase of drinks, slushes, and shakes to local schools across the U.S.
The new location officially opened Monday, July 15 at 805 Pennsylvania Ave., between Stanley Avenue and Linden Boulevard.
