Privileged youth
Three thugs stormed a Jay Street recording studio on May 17, holding two would-be superstars at gunpoint as they stole a control board.
The pair of distraught American Idols told cops they were at the studio between Plymouth and John streets, called Privilege Recordings, at around 7 pm when the three music critics stormed the place.
The thugs then taped the victims’ hands together with duct tape and forced them to sit on the floor at gunpoint saying, “Calm down, you are not going to get hurt.” The crooks then stole the $10,000 piece of equipment, along with the singers’ wallets and cellphones.
Planet pilfer
Yet another bag has been stolen from a locker at Planet Fitness on Duffield Street.
This time, the physically active victim said that he had finished his workout on May 18 at around 2 pm. When he opened his locker at the gym between Fulton and Willoughby streets, he noticed that all his property, including his keys, a cellphone, and an assortment of credit cards and IDs, were gone.
He told cops he had double-checked the lock on his locker, and that it didn’t appear to have been tampered with.
Cadman caper
A thief swiped a woman’s purse in Cadman Plaza on May 22.
The victim told cops she had left her bag unattended in the park at Cadman Plaza West and Middagh Street at around 8:20 pm. When she returned 20 minutes later, her bag, containing an iPhone, and an assortment of IDs and credit cards was gone.
Soccer swipe
A thief swiped a guy’s bag from Tillary Park while he went to go retrieve a soccer ball on May 21.
The would-be Pele told cops that he had kicked his ball over a fence at the park at Jay and Tillary streets at around 4 pm. When the 19-year-old returned his bag, containing $50, a Blackberry, an iPod Touch, three pairs of cleats, and two credit cards, was gone.
Loft lift
Two thugs stole 25 pairs of cargo pants from The Loft on Montague Street on May 21.
An employee at the store between Henry and Hicks streets told cops that she saw the shoplifters stash the pants in a plastic bag at around 1:30 pm. The pair then took off running.
Cell swipe
A thief snatched a woman’s phone right out of her hand on May 21 while she rode a Manhattan-bound A train.
The victim told cops that the train was near High Street at around 7:30 pm when the thief made his move and escaped before the victim could give chase.
Held up
Some creep robbed a girl’s wallet on May 19.
The victim told cops that she was at the corner of Elm Place and Fulton Street at around 12:30 am when the thug approached and said, “Give me your stuff.”
The 16 year-old complied and handed over her wallet, containing $20.
Snatched!
A thief swiped a woman’s purse from a stroller on Atlantic Avenue on May 19.
The victim told cops that she had just left her apartment between Third and Fourth avenues at around 6:15 pm when she stepped back inside her place for a mere 30 seconds to retrieve something. During that fleeting moment, the thief struck, making off with her purse containing a credit card.
