St. Marks Pl. shuts down traffic, brings in fun

Simple pleasures were on the menu during a block party along St. Mark’s Place.

Residents of the stretch between 4th and 5th avenues grabbed some of the last rays of summer sunshine with a day of special attractions and amusements, spending time with family and friends and firing up the grill for a community feast.

While the young rode bicycles and teamed up for sports tourneys, the adults enjoyed rest and relaxation, and caught up with news in the nabe.
