To The Editor:
I am currently a sixth grade teacher at Public School207. It has come to my attention, that some of our neighbors, have been saying unkind things about our school.
I have been a member of PS 207 for 21 years. I think that our school is an excellent educational facility, as well as a very tight knit family. I am not only speaking as a faculty member, I am also speaking as a parent. I have two sons, who both attended PS 207. It was not only a school to them, but a home as well.
Every faculty member not only teaches our children, but they also embrace them. I have taught in four other schools and none of them compare to PS 207.
It is often assumed that learning takes place in each and every school, however at PS 207 not only do the students’ scores rise every year, but their self-esteem does as well. They leave that school with a feeling of pride, not only for their school but for themselves. Anyone who has ever attended our school will agree.
I am certain that whoever it is that is making these comments and accusations about our school has never been in it. If they had, they would know that PS 207 is truly the shining star of Marine Park.
