The two faces of Park Slope were fully on display on Sunday, as hundreds of empty seats showed up for an anti-war rally, but hundreds of dollars were raised at a 14th Street bake sale for presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Though the crowd at the peace rally left a lot to be desired (like a crowd, for one thing), the Sroge family raised a whopping $600 for the Obama campaign.

“The excitement was intense,” said Rebecca Sroge. “One guy was so excited, he gave us $100 for four cupcakes!”

The cupcakes, by the way, were marked to move at just 50 cents apiece.

Reasonable discourse

John from PH says:
Obama is not going to win the presidency. The war in Iraq has been won by the United States armed forces along with the Iraq people and armed forces. The tell tale sign of the Iraq war having been won is the main stream media do not have any correspondents in Iraq. The do not want to report the facts on the ground which would highlight the surge has succeded and the war is in the final stages.
