A motorcyclist died after plowing his two-wheeler into a double-parked car in Bushwick earlier this week, police said.

Luimy Acosta-Collado, 27, was riding his gas-powered motorcycle on Hancock Street towards Saratoga Avenue a little before 11 pm on Monday when he struck the back of a woman’s minivan, which she parked next to another car near Broadway, cops said.

Paramedics then rushed the man to Brookdale Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, authorities said.

A Police Department spokeswoman, however, could not specify whether Acosta-Collado died from impact or if another vehicle ran over him following the collision.

The 24-year-old driver of the double-parked Toyota Sienna minivan was not injured and stayed at the scene, according to cops, who said someone moved Acosta-Collado’s motorcycle out of the street before they arrived.

Officials made no immediate arrests and their investigation is ongoing, police said.

Reasonable discourse

Parking from Brooklyn says:
We need places to park. It's no joke. Here's a example of a hazard that faces us all, every day.

And instead of trying to improve parking and reduce the double-parking hazard, we're taking parking away for the likes of bike lanes and bike docking stations which put even more people in harms way, both cyclists and motorist alike.

So not liking this city anymore. Too many people, too much chaos.

Mike from Williamsburg says:
Bike parking is parking. It is used by people, and it is used much more efficiently than the spaces taken by entitled motorists. But their entitlement knows absolutely no limits, and if all the free space we hand over to them isn't enough, they'll park in the middle of the street. They don't care who gets hurt.

mike, mike, mike - whenever i hear the 'entitlement' whine i chuckle

i park at the most convenient legal spot - ahem - not my issue if you cannot afford or want a car

Wilbur D. Horse from Haywood says:
Of course no one wants to see someone pass away. But how could he not see that double parked van? Did it "come out of nowhere"?

Nan from Bushwick says:
Double parking is ridiculous here. I see people double parking for hours on end. If you can't find a space, park around the corner, or on a different block. This young lady will have to live the remainder of her life knowing she causd the death of another.
