Welcome to the workforce! Thief swipes intern’s bike on her first day on the job, boss says

A Ditmas Park gymnastics teacher is calling on community members to help her track down the crook who stole her intern’s bike on Monday.

“If it’s a kid form the neighborhood who thinks he can steal, then maybe if we put in some effort and he gets caught, he’ll think twice about doing it in the future,” said Mina Marsow, who owns Prospect Gymnastics on Church Avenue between E. 10th Street and Stratford Road.

Footage from security cameras outside the gym shows the snake waited for passersby to file past the facility, before he wrenched the bike off a nearby rack at 10:07 am.

The theft occurred on the 13-year-old intern’s first day on the job assisting with the school’s summer program, according to Marsow, who said it devastated her bright-eyed apprentice.

“I feel terrible,” she said.

But Marsow, who suspects the two-wheeler wasn’t properly locked up, said the cameras previously helped her track down vandals who graffitied her academy, giving her hope they may yet again assist in nabbing the bike bandit.

Marsow asked anyone with information on the incident to e-mail her at mina@prospectgymnastics.com, call Prospect Gymnastics at (718) 484–0911, or call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577–8477.
