Cops cuffed a man on Nov. 2 who they say stole cotton candy from a York Street market, then returned a few minutes later and threatened an employee with three knives.
The 28-year-old worker said the guy came into the store between Bridge and Gold streets at 10:10 pm and started arguing over the price of a stick of the fluffy stuff. It cost $1.
The suspect then stormed out with the saccharine loot without paying, fighting off the clerk as he fled, according to a police report.
Unsatisfied, the thief returned 10 minutes later brandishing three blades and telling the employee he was going to get it, officers stated. The staffer called police, and the suspect took off on York towards Navy Street, cops said. Responding officers arrested the 37-year-old suspect less than a block away, according to the authorities.
