Teresa Polonski, a long−time member of Assembly member Joseph R. Lentol’s staff, died on May 2, 2009.
Polonski worked in Lentol’s Williamsburg office from the day he was elected in 1973, until her death.
Her dedicated public service did not begin with the Assembly member, since it was his late father, Senator Edward Lentol, with whom she began her career.
Her combined 40 years of service to the Greenpoint⁄Williamsburg communities was valued and respected. As a lifelong resident and community representative, Polonski touched the lives of all who knew her. Her late husband, Nick Polonski, was a founding member of the Northside Senior Center as well as the Northside Community Development Council, where Nick was the executive director. Together, the two dedicated their lives to serving the community.
“Teri was not only a member of my staff; she was also my beloved friend,” said Lentol.
Polonski is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie, and son−in−law, John; grandchildren, John, Steven. Michael, and Michael’s wife Kathleen; great−grandchildren Cameron and Kaitlyn.
“Teri will be truly missed, yet it is comforting to believe that she and her dearly loved Nick are united once more,” said Lentol.
