Sunday Best is back where it belongs!
The popular afternoon dance party — which built a following at Bklyn Yard along the banks of the Gowanus Canal before a one-year hiatus in Bushwick — will return on May 29 to the same lot off Carroll Street.
And the same team — Justin Carter, Eamon Harkin and Doug Singer — is working the turntables.
“If you never made it down, let us count the ways you’re going to love it,” said Carter. “First, kids and dogs — you can bring them. We love them, and we don’t get to see enough of them on Saturday nights.”
Carter, Harkin and Singer — who DJ under the name “Mister Saturday Night” — brought weekend dance parties to Gowanus three years ago, but the party closed down when its organizers had trouble securing a liquor license for the space, forcing a move to Brooklyn Fireproof East.
But this time it’s here to stay — and there’ll even be a few food vendors from the Brooklyn Flea, such as the smoked meat geniuses from Mile End and boozesmiths from Botanica.
