Grab and snatch
Two robbers mugged a man at Sterling Place early on Aug. 15.
The victim told cops that he was near Vanderbilt Avenue when the muggers grabbed him and stole his cellphone and wallet, which contained $40.
Cops are investigating whether this latest tag-team robbery is linked to a spate of muggings by a dastardly duo in the neighborhood, which was first reported in last week’s Police Blotter.
Cars cracked
Thieves broke into at least two vehicles in Prospect Heights this week. Here’s a rundown:
• A crook jimmied the lock of a Jeep Liberty parked at Sterling Place and Washington Avenue overnight on Aug. 12 and made off with a pair of Nikes, Gucci sunglasses and a navigation system.
• Two nights later, someone broke the window of a car parked on Pacific Street between Sixth and Carlton avenues, making off with the radio, navigation system and an EZ Pass.
