Hockey fan Gus Eisenstein, son of our very own Pigskin Prognosticator Ida Eisenstein, dropped the ceremonial first puck at the Feb. 23 Brooklyn Aviators’ game against Canada’s Akwesasne Warriors. Gus gave the team some much needed luck as the A’s ended their four-game losing streak by freezing the Canuks 7-1.

Our pal Gus wasn’t a bit nervous when he was plucked out of the stands to drop the first puck of the game. “I was very happily surprised” he said. “I just started to be a fan of the Aviators, I usually follow the Islanders, but I enjoy going to the Aviators games, it’s close to home and the arena is nice.”
