Swift steal
Talk about “Mean”: A thief scored Taylor Swift tickets and other items waiting for UPS pickup from a Montague Street business on Aug. 22.
The 47-year-old employee told police that she set the parcels in the hallway of the building near Court Street at 4:37 pm. Minutes later, they were gone before the delivery service arrived.
The crook got away with California concert tickets, baseball equipment, running shoes and an $800 voucher for a New York hotel stay.
Take four
A stealthy straphanger nabbed an iPhone 4 from a woman on a Church Avenue-bound G train on Aug. 23.
The 33-year-old victim said that she was playing games on her cell at 9:05 pm when the doors opened at Bergen Street. Just then, a 20-year-old thief yanked her phone and fled.
Blank check
A pickpocket snagged a Louis Vuitton wallet at a Montague Street grocery store on Aug. 26.
The 55-year-old victim told police that she entered the Key Food near Hicks Street at 3:45 pm. When she went to checkout 15 minutes later, she noticed her backpack was unzipped and her billfold was gone — along with $200 and a blank check.
Flooded out
A crooked handyman stole a MacBook from a Warren Street apartment last week after cleaning a flooded basement.
The 22-year-old victim told cops that he hired a crew to remove water from his pad near Court Street on Aug. 22. When the workers finished the job the next day, the tenant noticed that his shiny new laptop was gone.
Jungle gym
This week’s installment of locker room thefts at the Duffield Street Planet Fitness offers two entries:
• A dirty jock stole $1,300 from the gym near Fulton Street on Aug. 26. The 27-year-old victim told cops he returned to his locker at 4:45 pm to find his lock busted open and his cash missing.
• Another gym rat scored a pair of Air Jordans from a locker on Aug. 24. The 22-year-old victim told police that he started his workout at 11:40 pm and discovered after his hour-long sweatfest that his sneakers, jeans, work shirt and credit cards were gone.
Taken by storm
Some crook stole a woman’s pocketbook from a hurricane relief center on Jay Street on Aug. 27.
The 53-year-old victim told police that she followed Mayor Bloomberg’s demand to evacuate her home and ended up at a City Tech building near Tillary Street. At around 7 pm, she headed for the bathroom and returned to her cot minutes later to find that her billfold was in a lost-and-found bin — and her credit cards and medical cards were gone.
In dis-dress
A cat burglar snatched hundreds in designer T-shirts from a Hoyt Street boutique on Aug. 23.
The 46-year-old employee told cops that she was in the basement of her store near Atlantic Avenue at 2:50 pm when she heard a knock at the door. She came upstairs minutes later and saw that $210 and a pile of 13 shirts were gone.
Apple picking
A sneaky bandit broke into a Bergen Street home on Aug. 25 and stole a couple of Mac devices.
The 55-year-old victim told police that he fell asleep at his home near Hoyt Street at 12:30 am. When he woke up six hours later, he noticed that his first-floor window was open and his iPad, MacBook and $45 were gone.
He said he ignored the urgent barking of his dog at 2:30 am — which is possibly when the burglar scored the loot.
Gun money
Two marauders attacked a man holding a plastic bag with thousands of dollars on Flatbush Avenue Extension on Aug. 26.
The 20-year-old victim told police he was near State Street at 11 am and had just left a bank with $9,000. He was about to enter his employer’s SUV when a stranger in a blue sweat suit pressed a gun to his ribs.
The robber pushed him into the car — where his stunned boss was at the wheel — and demanded, “Give me the money!” Just then another crook entered the vehicle and put a gun to the driver’s head.
The frightened employee handed over the plastic bag filled with $20 bills and one of the robbers ran away.
But the victim’s trouble didn’t end there. The gunman pressed the firearm to the young man’s side and forced him to walk to State Street and Third Avenue, ordering, “Turn around, don’t look back, or I will shoot you!”
That’s when the crook finally fled.
State of affairs
Thieves struck a quiet block of State Street at least three times last week:
• Some crook entered an unlocked apartment on near Nevins Street on Aug. 22 and walked out with an Apple PowerBook.
The 30-year-old victim, told cops that he went to bed at 10 pm and woke at 2 am to find his front door open and his tech toy gone.
• At about the same time, a burglar climbed through the window of an apartment down the hall at 2 am. The rogue swiped a BlackBerry phone and exited through the front door. The 60-year-old victim told police that when she woke up at 8:30 am. She noticed her mobile and several other knick-knacks were gone.
• A prowler broke into a home near Nevins Street and swiped two MacBooks on Aug. 27.
The victim told police that his son came home around 2:30 am and the laptops were in the kitchen. But when the man awoke two hours later, the living room window was open and the devices were gone.
