Tortured artist
A baddie stole a man’s lightbox from inside its package on Baltic Street on Jan. 8, the man reported to police on Jan. 26.
The incident occurred between Court and Smith streets at some point between 2:30 and 5:30 pm, police said.
Overnight swipe
A lout took a man’s license plate from his black 1999 Honda Civic parked on Van Brunt Street at some point between Jan. 24 and Jan. 25.
The thief swiped the plate from the car parked between Seabring and Commerce streets sometime between 5:30 am on Jan. 24 and 7 pm the following day, police said.

Police arrested a woman who allegedly kicked in a man’s door on Lorraine Street on Jan. 25.
The man told police the woman damaged the door of his home between Henry and Clinton streets around 1:30 pm, and police arrested the woman about an hour later.
Clean suspect
Cops caught up with a man for allegedly stealing four containers of soap from Hoyt Street on Nov. 22 — arresting him two months later on Jan. 27.
The alleged incident occurred between Warren and Baltic streets around 2:30 pm.
Didn’t get far
Police arrested a man who they say stole a woman’s cellphone and credit card at a Hamilton Avenue restaurant on Jan. 28.
The woman told police she was eating in the eatery between Bush and Centre streets around 10 am, when the phone and cards fell out of her pocket, and the man swiped them. Officers arrested the man within an hour of the alleged incident, according to the police report.
Petty theft
Officers arrested a man who allegedly stole candy, soda, and ice cream from a Smith Street drugstore on Jan. 29.
The alleged incident occurred at Warren Street just before 5 am.
