Cookie decorating class: It’s the most wonderful time of the year, indeed — and the sweetest! Join Sahadi’s at Industry City for an hour-long cookie decorating class that comes with a kid’s hot chocolate and a goodie bag. 11 am at Sahadi’s Industry City (Courtyard 3/4), 34 35th St. between First and Second avenues in Sunset Park. $20 to reserve a ticket.

Black Friday hike through Prospect Park: Take a trip with the Urban Park Rangers through Brooklyn’s backyard and check out all the park has to offer, from wildlife to lesser-known sweet spots in the urban greenspace oasis. 11 am at Parkside Avenue and Prospect Park Southwest in Windsor Terrace. Sunday, Nov. 28

It’s a beloved holiday tradition! Join your fellow Brooklynites in Park Slope for the yearly lighting of the 32-foot menorah at Grand Army Plaza, which will include a kickoff concert on the 28th marking the first night of the holiday. 4 pm at Grand Army Plaza near Flatbush Avenue and Prospect Park West. Free.

Lightscape: Check out Lightscape at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a new exhibit celebrating the beauty of winter through light installations and dazzling displays after dark throughout the horticultural museum in Crown Heights. More than 18 works of art light will be on display, including the Winter Cathedral tunnel and an animated installation covering the Cherry Esplanade. Running Nov. 19 through Jan. 2022 at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 990 Washington Ave. near Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, $34 admission for adults.
