Members of the Bay Ridge business community %u2013 among them, a restaurateur, a banker and an accountant %u2013 were hailed for their efforts to revitalize the local commercial strip when the Merchants of Third Avenue held its annual civic awards ceremony at Cafe Remy.
Honorees were recognized for their “outstanding contributions” to Third Avenue and its shoppers during the group’s 16th Annual Pioneers Champagne Cocktail Reception at the dining establishment, 7710 Third Avenue.
The “Pioneer” honorees were: Tommy Casatelli, The Kettle Black, 8622 3rd Avenue; Peter Amsterdam, Coscia & Amsterdam, 8714 3rd Avenue; and Manny Saviolakis, Anapoli Ice Cream Parlor and Family Restaurant, 6920 3rd Avenue.
Among other honorees were “Civic Award” recipients Tom Edwards of Lutheran Medical Center, and Joan Dalton of Northfield Bank; and “Green Pioneers” Little Cupcake Bake Shop, 9102 3rd Avenue, and Center for Urban Greenscaping.
Special “Green” awards were presented to the Green Spa and Wellness Center, 8804 3rd Avenue, and Pilo Arts, 8412 3rd Avenue.
